Anegada Harbour, Anegada, BVI
View Original Description
Anegada Harbour is the main anchorage on Anegada Island in the BVI's. The Anegada "harbour" is simply an opening in the coral reef in its southwestern side between the Anegada Reef Hotel at Setting Point and Pomato Point.
On Anegada it's a good idea to pick up a mooring due to the relatively poor protection that the harbor offers from high winds and weather. Try to arrive at between 11-12 to have a better chance at getting a mooring. The Moor Secure moorings are available from the Anagada Reef Hotel and other moorings are operated by Neptune’s Treasure. They both will send a skiff out to collect the $30 mooring fee.
Use VHF radio channel 16 to communicate with the hotels who can direct the taxi’s. So it’s a good idea to bring your handheld VHF ashore.
