Visit Batteria di Candeo, Caprera Island, Sardinia, Italy
Batteria di Candeo was an one of the antisubmarine battery, located on the north east coast of the island of Caprera. It was named after the frigate captain Antonio Candeo. It is camouflaged and entirely dug out of the granite. There is a small barracks, then a sentry box, shelters, observatories and hidden and invisible gun and anti-aircraft positions. There is also an unarmored steel dome of the rangefinder.
