Visit Black Mountain Quarries, Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales

Black Mountain Quarries has traces of lime exploitation spanning many hundreds of years with quarry workings, lime kilns, and spoil heaps from small scale local exploitation of the 1700s to large industrial use in the 20th century. Limestone, silica rock and silica sand were quarried here until the 1950's.   The Black Mountain Quarries are accessible by car or bicycle from the A4069 between Brynaman and Llangadog.
