Hike Triangulation Peak to Boca Cave, Oregon

The 4 mile round trip Triangulation Peak trail in Mount Jefferson Wilderness, Oregon leads to Boca Cave. The view from the peak offers a perfect view of Mt. Jefferson. The cave isn't very deep but you can get some nice photos of Mt. Jefferson from inside the cave. The hike to is not on an established trail and it is not family or pet friendly. The trail to the cave is a few hundred feet back down the trail from the summit of Triangulation Peak. A free self issue Wilderness Permit ($5) is required and is available at the trailhead. To get there from Detroit Ranger Station travel east on Hwy 22 for 6.2 miles to forest road 2233 (McCoy Creek road). Turn left onto 2233 and travel about 7.8 miles to a 3 way junction, then make a sharp right turn and it is another 1.3 miles to the trailhead for Trail #3373. Trailhead is on the right.
