Visit Boipeba Island, Bahia, Brazil

The relatively unheard, no-car, no roads island of Boipeba is located south of Salvador in Bahia, Brazil. Praia do Moreré is one of the great beaches on the island. Sambura restaurant on the beach opens only when customers pre-book. Pousada Santa Clara and Pousada Mangabeiras are good places to stay. To get there from Salvador, take the ferry from the São Joaquim terminal to Bom Despacho on Itaparica island. Boats run hourly during the day and take 45-50 minutes. From there go to the bus station to get a ticket to Valença, which takes about 2 hours. From Valença take a short taxi ride to port to get on a 1 hour fast boat to Boipeba or a bus and boat option which is cheaper but takes around 3 hours in total.
