The French Polynesian island is surround by a lagoon and barrier reef. At the center of the island is an extinct volcano that forms two peaks: Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu. Bora Bora is best known for its overwater bungalows, romantic setting, and emerald waters. It provides the perfect environment to relax and get away from it all. The waters are so clear you can easily see to the bottom. Though you’ll see more sea life (manta rays, turtles, and dolphins) and coral walls if you do a dive or go snorkeling. If you prefer to spend some time on top of the water there are plenty of options: rent a motorboat, ride a jet ski, or tour the Lagoonarium by canoe.
