Visit Breckenridge, Colorado

A former mining town in the Rocky Mountains, Breckenridge was transformed into an area ideal for skiing in 1961. Since then the mountain resort has evolved and now offers over 2,300 acres of awe-inspiring landscape with four mountain peaks. Breckenridge provides just the right mixture of deep powder, epic terrain parks, rolling hills for longer runs, and wide open bowls. The mountain is ideal for both advanced and new skiers and snowboarders. Getting from town to the mountain takes just minutes via the BreckConnect Gondola. No wonder Breckenridge consistently maintains a spot as one of the top 10 ski resorts in North America. While many people may flock to Breckenridge during the winter months, the town has plenty to offer sports enthusiasts year round. Breckenridge is ideal for mountain biking while hikers tend to flock to the fourteener Quandary Peak. There’s also fly-fishing in the Blue River and taking boat rides in Lake Dillon. After a long day of outdoor activity during any season there’s nothing like unwinding at a local bar or having a great meal at an upscale restaurant on Breckenridge’s Main Street. The people are friendly, the town has an artistic vibe, and the views can’t be beat. The town has the following festivals: Ullr Fest – January International Snow Sculpture Championships – January/February Mardi Gras – February Colorado Ski Cup Spring Series – March Breckenridge Film Festival – June Kingdom Days – June Summer Beer Festival – July Breckenridge Oktoberfest – September Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival – October Lighting of Breckenridge - December
