Visit Cabuya Island Cemetery, Isla de Cabuya, Costa Rica

Nestled in the faraway tip of Nicoya Peninsula, the remote village of Cabuya is Home to Cabo Blanco, Costa Rica’s first nature reserve. As one of the country’s lesser-known attractions, Cabuya provides a somewhat refreshing respite from the otherwise overwhelmingly touristy places. Directly in front of the village’s spectacular coastline is Cabuya Island Cemetery, a rocky isle, renowned for its unusual burial traditions, and accessible to visitors only during periods of low tide.
