Drink at Callwood Rum Distillery, Tortola, BVI
The Callwood Rum Distillery is one of the Caribbean's oldest continuous pot distillery. Located in the Heart of the British Virgin Islands, the old walls and equipment take you a step back into history. Callwood Distillery is located on Cane Gardebn Bay on the island of Torrola.
It is one of two distilleries in the BVI's. The other location is at Foxy's Bar on Jost Van Dyke.
Guests are welcome to tour the property and watch as rum is being made using the original boiler and the stored in historic storage casks. Tour doesn't take too long but is very interesting. There are four variations of onsite-distilled rum available for tasting and purchase.
The old guard house is also intact and has been turned into an art gallery and gift shop.
This rustic little location is a great stop as you tour the island.
