Visit Caprock Ruin, Cedar Mesa, Utah
This granary sits under a huge rock on Cedar Mesa, Utah. Caprock is only one of the many ruins in and around Slickhorn Canyon. The Caprock Ruin is located near Point Lookout at the end of a sandstone ridge that juts out into the upper 6th Fork of Slickhorn Canyon in Cedar Mesa, Utah.
The ruins can be reached relatively easily then the more difficult hikes in the inner Slickhorn Canyon. This granary sits under a huge rock on Cedar Mesa, Utah. You can't see it until you are just there. For a long time after its discovery, its location was was kept secret.
From Route 261 take Slick Hord Rd to Point Lookout Rd (CR-203) and eventually to the trailhead to the ruins (around 6.5 miles). Then about a mile walk.
Day hiking in the canyons of Cedar Mesa and Comb Ridge requires a day hiking pass, available online at rec.gov or with cash at many trailheads.
