Looks to be a gun emplacement built out of the remains of a Japanese Type 1 Land Attacker aircraft. Inside the trench, the paint of the Japanese flag on the fuselage.
Chidori Field, also known as South Field or Motoyama No. 1, wasan airfield on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II.
