Dive China Point, Santa Catalina Island, California
China Point is one of the dive sites on the windward side of Catalina Island.
In 1882, the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed, barring all new Chinese immigrants from China. Catalina became a stopping point for smuggling process and a camp was set up at a well hidden point on the backside of the island. History often leads to the names of locations and the spot of this camp later became known as China Point.
