It is the home field of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. is an American sportscaster and former professional and college football coach. Saban served as head coach of the National Football League (NFL)'s Miami Dolphins and at four universities: the University of Toledo, Michigan State University, Louisiana State University (LSU), and most famously the University of Alabama, where he last coached from 2007 to 2023 and led the team to six national championships in nine championship appearances during that period. Paul William "Bear" Bryant (1913 – 1983) was an American college football player and coach. He was best known as the head coach of the University of Alabama football team. During his 25-year tenure as Alabama's head coach, he amassed six national championships (tied for the most in modern college football history) and thirteen conference championships. Upon his retirement in 1982, he held the record for most wins as head coach in collegiate football history with 323 wins.
