Conception Harbour Shipwrecks, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
View Original Description
Conception Harbour is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The S.S. Charcot, its rusting bow jutting out of the water, is almost within arm's reach of the beach. The Charcot broke its mooring during a storm in 1968 and ran aground. The S.S. Sukha and S.S. Southern Foam, two old whaling ships, lay on their sides a few meters apart next to S.S. Charcot, not far below the surface.
