Concord Falls, Grenada
View Original Description
Concord Falls is one of the famous waterfalls on the islandof Grenada. Make sure to hike up to the upper falls. Grenada is volcanic in origin and is very mountainous throughout (Mount St. Catherine is 2,756 ft / 840 m). The mountains provide a plethora of wonderful waterfalls including this one: one of the three Concord Waterfalls.
The drive to Concorde Waterfalls is as spectacular as the falls themselves: steep, winding roads (as is the norm in Grenada) flow through small villages, punctuated with fantastic views.
The pool below the highest Concorde Waterfall is wonderfully warm and is a perfect escape from the hot and humid tropical climate.
The best idea: do what we did and walk up and around the Concord Waterfalls and go trekking in the thick jungle behind Concord. You can follow the stream for about an hour with no trouble and without the need for a machete. The fresh water trickling down the stream is so wonderfully fresh, clear and tasty.
