Visit Fiumara d'Arte, Messina, Sicily, Italy

The open-air museum “Fiumara d'Arte” is made up of 12 large contemporary art installations in the small town of Castel di Lucio, nestled between the Sicilian mountain ranges of the Nebrodi and the Madonie, in the province of Messina. Fiumara d’Arte was born in 1982 when Antonio Presti commissioned the first work from Pietro Consagra, in honor of his father, which was inaugurated in 1986 with the name ofMatter might not be there. The second sculpture was inaugurated in 1988, by the sculptor Paolo Schiavocampo and entitled A curve thrown behind time. Between 1989 and 2021, the other 10 sculptures were created and installed by the hand of national and international artists.
