Built in 1770 and fortified with cannons aimed at the port entrance, Fort San Antonio was Spain's last stronghold in Chile after the War of Independence. Currently the fort consists of seven cannons that look out over Ancud Bay, as well as access to the old tunnel to the powder keg, which has been blocked since the 1960 earthquake.
