Municipal Museum "Gerhart Hauptmann's House"- museum housed in Jagniątkowo (district of Jelenia Gora ) in a house belonging to the German writer, Nobel Prize winner Gerhart Hauptmann built in 1899 and designed by Berlin architect Hans Grisebacha.
After World War II, there were different conceptions of the use of the place. Until 1997, it housed the Children's Holiday Centre "Warszawianka". Since 2005, among others thanks to the efforts of Tadeusz Mazowiecki and Helmut Kohl, the place is purely museum.
Statutory goals museum are: to cultivate multicultural heritage of Lower Silesia, storing and sharing the legacy of Gerhart Hauptmann and collections related to the culture and literature of Silesia.
At the permanent exhibition consists of memorabilia associated with the work and life of Nobel Prize winner, among others, its furnishings, letters, first editions of works.
