Gold Butte, Nevada
View Original Description
The ghost town of Gold Butte is what remains of a mining settlement active from around 1905 to 1910. Little is left at the site, but you can spot a couple of foundations, two graves and several old mine shafts. Gold Butte is protected as part of the Gold Butte National Monument, which includes ancient petroglyphs. One site, called 21 Goats, depicts what are now believed to be bighorn sheep.
