Visit Unknown First Family at Golden Heart Plaza, Fairbanks, Alaska

Golden Heart Plaza in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska, is a riverfront gathering center that serves as a community venue for many popular activities and events. The 18 foot tall "Unknown First Family", a monument created by Malcolm Alexander which was erected on Golden Heart Plaza in Fairbanks, Alaska, when that square opened in 1987. According to the sculptor the statue is "Portraying the family of all mankind, the family of Fairbanks, and the nuclear family. Let this statue symbolize, for families present and future, the pride and dignity of this great land.”
