Take Boat to Grotta del Mago, Ischia, Italy
La Grotta del Mago is located on the south-eastern coast of Ischia between Punta Lume and Punta Parata. The cave has several legends and has changed its name several times.
One story is fishermen took refuge seeking a shelter during the violent storms and on those occasions, a man with a long white beard and flowing hair appeared punctually, sitting on the rocks of the cave with a good-natured air. According to the fishermen's story, in addition to the man who revealed himself, it was possible to distinguish subtle voices that seemed to play inside the cave to finally see beautiful nymph-like creatures appear. According to them, the show was truly fantastic and enchanting and not at all frightening, one was seized by a sense of bliss never experienced. After the violent storm, those mythological creatures disappeared by magic.
Accessible only by boat.
