Visit Guadalajara, Mexico

Guadalajara is located in the Western-Pacific region of Mexico and is the capital city of Jalisco State. The city is the 2nd most populous in Mexico and is the source of some of Mexico’s most famous cultural icons: Tequila, Mariachis and Rodeos among them. The city is graced with incredibly good weather throughout the year and attracts visitors to view its marvelous architecture displayed in its historic and religious buildings. Guadalajara also is known for its outstanding parks and the surrounding natural landscape. Parque Metropolitano and el Bosque la Primavera are just 2 such open areas where hiking, ecotourism and camping are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Magical Lake Chapala, Mexico’s largest freshwater lake, is just a short drive from town offering hiking, biking and boat tours. Downtown Guadalajara provides opportunities for visiting a number of museums and galleries that have helped earn Guadalajara its reputation as “The Cultural Capital of the Americas”. The downtown area is also home to a number of buildings displaying magnificent architecture of cultural significance including Teatro Degallado, Instituto Cultural Cabanas, Palacio Municipal, Catedral Metropolitana and the Rotonda de los Jalisciences Illustres.
