Visit Isle of Harris, Scotland

Harris is the southern and more mountainous part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Although not an island itself, Harris is often referred to as the Isle of Harris and has some of the best beaches in Scotland. Harris itself is divided into North and South Harris and connected by a narrow isthmus. North Harris has mountains and South Harris is known for it's beaches. In common with many parts of the Highlands and Islands Harris has numerous single-track roads with passing places at intervals. Ferries sail from Tarbert to Uig in Skye. Harris is also known for Harris tweed, although this is mostly now made in Lewis.
