Henno Martin (15 March 1910 – 7 January 1998) was a German professor of geology who, along with Hermann Korn, lived for two years in the Namib Desert to avoid internment during the Second World War. They first settled in the Kuiseb canyon (Henno Martin Shelter 1). At the end of January 1941 they moved to this hiding place on the Lower Saxony farm and also spent eight months here atHenno Martin Shelter 2.
