Visit Jameos del Agua, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Jameos del Agua is located on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The cave lies at the foot of the volcano Monte de la Corona which erupted around 3.000 years ago. This larger cave system also includes Cueva de los Verdes. The Lanzarote-born artist César Manrique has helped to create this spectacle, where these natural 'jameos' have been turned into an Auditorium, Swimming pool, Gardens and Restaurants. Decending a winding staircase visitors enter Jameo Grande, a roofless volcanic bubble 100 m. long and 30 m. wide, and from there into a magnificent garden with a large swimming pool.
