Kwaaymii Point, Julian, California
View Original Description
Kwaaymii Point, at an elevation of 6,000 feet, offers one of the most stunning views in San Diego. The point is just off the Sunrise Highway on the border of the Anza-Borrego State Park and the Cleveland National Forest. Kwaaymii Point has great views of the Anza-Borrego Desert to the East, and on a clear day, Mount San Jacinto to the North. It's right on the Pacific Crest Trail, which was once an old roadbed that was chiseled into the cliff. This was once a very narrow and dangerous drive with a steep drop directly below you.
It has become a popular area for official death markers - and unofficial death markers - formal remembrances to the people that have passed.
Kwaaymii Point is located directly off of Sunrise Highway (S1) at mile marker 30.3.
