Lafayette Square is one of 22 historic public squares in Savannah, Georgia. This picturesque 19th-century square features a fountain. Savannah's Lafayette Square was established in 1937. It is named after the Marquis de Lafayette who visited the town in 1825. Lafayette was a general in the American Revolutionary War and a leader of the Garde National during the French Revolution.
