Visit Laguna Tebenquiche, Salar de Atacama, Chile

Tebenquiche Laguna is part of the trilogy of gaps found in nearby San Pedro de Atacama. The Atacameños said these gaps as turquoise Ojos del Salar de Atacama, by Cejar, the Ojos del Salar and Tebinquinche. This natural wonder is located in the Salar de Atacama, the largest in Chile with an area of approximately 3,000 km2. Under the salar is a stealthy lake in a thick layer of salt, which contains the largest reserves of lithium in the world. This layer has been opened in places, exposing gaps that are habitat of birds like flamingos, coots and guallatas.
