Laughlin, Nevada
View Original Description
Don Laughlin didn’t want the town to be named after him. He wanted it to be called Riverside or Casino. But the post office insisted. Laughlin, an Owatonna, Minnesota, native, purchased the southern tip of Nevada in 1964 and opened what is now called the Riverside Resort, in the city that would be named after him. Today, Laughlin is best known for its gaming, entertainment, and water recreation activities. It is also one of the top five destinations for American RV enthusiasts.
