Visit Loughshinny Chevron Folds, Loughshinny, Ireland

Loughshinny Chevron Folds is folded sedimentary rocks of carboniferous age along Loughshinny's coastal cliffs showcases their striking geological layers and vibrant colors. The layers of grey limestones and black shales formed about 33 million, years ago and the visible folding of the rocks happened later, about 290 million years ago. It's a short walk south from Loughshinny harbour. Go at low tide to the rock formation.
