Visit
Minorca (Menorca) Island, Spain (UNESCO site)
View Original Description
The tranquil sister island of Ibiza and Majorca, Minorca (also referred to as Menorca) is known for it’s natural beauty. In fact, the entire island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve because of the diverse Mediterranean habitats found there and the sustainable living practiced on the island. So, it’s a great destination for eco-tourists.
If you want to see the British influence on Minorca visit its capital, Mahon. After exploring the city, see one of the many beaches. Deciding which beach to visit depends on what you like to do. Those looking for a beach with beautiful waters and plenty of water activities should visit Arenal d’en Castell, while those who want to go snorkeling should visit Binibeca.
