Visit Museum of Natural History (Morro Bay), Morro Bay State Park, California
A visit to the Central Coast of California is not complete without a stop at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History, located within Morro Bay State Park. The museum is open daily from 10am - 5pm. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children 18 and under. The museum feautures interactive exhibits and overlooks Morro Bay, which is both a State and National Estuary and a Marine Protected Area.
The museum sits on a hill overlooking the Morro Bay estuary, midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, with a view of Morro Rock. It is the only natural history museum in the California State Park system.
The Junior Ranger Program is geared for kids ages 7-12 years old and provides the chance to partake in a variety of fun and educational nature-oriented activities at Morro Bay State Park. Stop by the front desk at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History to pick up an activity booklet and check out the Interpretive Events Calendar for upcoming, in-person programs.
