View Original Description
Formerly known as Spitsbergen Airship Museum, the Italian owned and run North Pole Expedition Museum is located on the seaside of Vei 400, just below the University Centre.
The museum looks back at the early 20th century North Pole expeditions, with a focus on Roald Amundsen and Umberto Nobile common and separate expeditions. There are many press clippings, telegrams, pictures and a few artifacts from this era so it's worth a visit when you'er in Longyearbyen. But cameras are not allowed inside.
