Norway
View Original Description
The Scandinavian country of Norway is probably best known for its countless fjords, the northern lights, and its rich Viking history. Norway has much more to offer visitors all year round. Although the adventures along the fjords and mountain landscapes are popular summer escapes, exploring them during winter opens up new possibilities not to mention terrains. People can now take a high-speed boat across the fjord to ski previously inaccessible trails in the Lyngen Alps.
There are many parts of Norway that are quite modern such as its capital, Oslo. It has a new opera house on the waterfront, many music and cultural festivals, museums, and a vibrant nightlife. If you want to see a more historical side of the country, visit central Norway. In particular, take a stroll through the old mining town of Røros, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you’ll see traditional wood homes with lawns growing on rooftops. Travel further north to experience the midnight sun and northern lights. While there you can even go on a wildlife safari on land or on sea. Norway is a truly exotic place with a landscape as diversified as its rich cultural history.
