Visit Palace of Fine Art, Krakow, Poland

Art Palace - the building of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Krakow. The building was erected in the years 1898-1901. The Art Nouveau building was designed by architect Francis Mączyński, and modeled on the famous pavilion Secession in Vienna. For the decoration of the Palace of Art greatest artists from Krakow participated. The facade of the palace is decorated with pillared portico, surmounted by the figure of Apollo in the solar aureole. The building serves as an art gallery, hosting there presentations of contemporary Polish art, and exhibitions of foreign artists. In the building are also organized art auctions.
