The Paria Contact Station is a seasonally staffed information center primarily focused on assisting visitors to the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, and nearby sites in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Paria Contact Station also serves as a permit pickup location for the Paria Canyon Overnight, Coyote Buttes South, and Coyote Buttes North Permit Areas. The Paria Contact Station is open seven days a week from March 15 through November 15. Hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Drinking water is available year-round in the parking area.
Please note: The Coyote Buttes North (includes the "Wave") Walk-in Permit Lottery is not held at the Paria Contact Station, and permits for this area are not available for purchase at this location. All walk-in Coyote Buttes North Permits are sold at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Visitor Center in Kanab, UT.
Directions:
From Page, AZ, drive west on Highway 89 for 30 miles (48 kilometers). Look for the BLM Contact Station sign on the left (south). The Paria Contact Station is two hundred yards (meters) off Highway 89.
From Kanab, UT, drive east on Highway 89 for 43 miles (62 kilometers). Look for the BLM Contact Station sign on the right. The Paria Contact Station is 200 yards (218 meters) off Highway 89.
