Visit Ponta do Sossego Viewpoint, São Miguel, Azores
The Ponta do Sossego Viewpoint is a Portuguese viewpoint located in the municipality of Nordeste, on the Azorean island of São Miguel.
This viewpoint underwent restoration and maintenance work and was inaugurated on 18 July 1995. It offers a wide view over the north coast of the island as well as part of the mountains of the Northeast.
From here you can see Fajã do Araújo , Ponta da Madrugada and Ponta da Marquesa.
This viewpoint is partly landscaped with not only flowering plants but also endemic flora typical of Macaronesia . It is possible to have a picnic in the shade of thatched roofs.
