Visit Punta de la Salina, Punta del Este, Uruguay
This is the most extreme point located south in Uruguay. You can watch sea lions on the rocks and see the large National flag. The rocky point that separates and joins the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean.
Great Britain Square pays tribute to the English ship Ajax, which faced the Graf Spee in the historic battle of 1939 on the Río de la Plata. The Ajax anchor is exhibited in the Punta de la Salina.
The point also has the sculpture "El Canto de las Sirenas", a family of sirens sculpted in stone that, although somewhat deteriorated, continue to attract the attention of visitors.
