Visit Sandy Island, Anguilla
Sandy Island in Anguilla is a very small island that offers a quiet place for a swim and relax. Eat and a drink at the beach bar. Many local charter boat companies offer private day trip charters to Sandy Island and other attractions.
The Sandy Island sea shuttle leaves from the small pier in Sandy Ground daily November 1 to July 31 beginning at 10am. Open by reservation only August 1 to October 31. Cost $10 per person round trip. Look for the Sandy Island sign at the entrance of the parking lot. While reservations are preferred, beach walkers and drifters are welcome.
Private yachts and large charter boat operators can use the designated mooring area to drop anchor and dinghy in to shore. Dinghies and smaller boats can enter the protected bay area through the channel markers located on the NW side of the island. All visiting vessels must check-in with the Customs and Marine Office in Sandy Ground to acquire the necessary cruising permits.
