Visit Santa Rosaliíta, Baja California, Mexico

Santa Rosalillita is a sleepy Pacific fishing village in Baja that has been trying to modernize. Commercial fishing, abalone and lobster remain the economic staples of the town. There are a couple of small restaurants that serve the community, 2 small markets, a church, a mechanic and a small packing plant that processes the fish caught daily.  There is now a nice paved road to Hwy 1 that allows for a quick connection between the Pacific and the Sean of Cortez (at LA Bay). Dirt roads (4WD or high clearance) lead to the north and south. Many campers and surfers use Santa Rosalillita as an entrance to the many great beaches in the area. The goverment attempted to install a jetty and loading docs to allow boats to be moved overland to LA Bay, but it has not woked properly yet. This was going to make it really easy for smaller boat traffic to avoid the long passage around the length of Baja to enjoy the more subdued waters of the Sea of Cortez.
