Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center exhibits rely on storytelling by elders to convey Chumash beliefs and traditions. The grounds include 3.5 acres of hyperlocal native trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials — the flora you would have seen before the explorers, missionaries and colonists brought in non-native plants.
The Museum Gift Shop is filled with traditional and contemporary jewelry, various pieces of handmade artwork, books, baskets, beaded items, traditional clothing, and more.
