Visit Sierra View Overlook, White Mountain, California
This view spot on the way to White Mountain and the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest affords one of the most spectacular views of the backbone of the Sierra Nevada Range. On a clear day you can see from Mt Whitney all the way to Mt Dana in Yosemite National Park and even Mono Lake. There are interpretive panels, a restroom and parking at this site.
From Big Pine proceed east on Highway 168 for 12 miles until you reach the turn off for White Mtn Road/Bristlecone Pine Forest. Turn left at that signed junction and proceed 8 miles until the view parking area - you'll know it when you get there!!
