Visit Spioenkop, Wenduine, West Flanders, Belgium

The 31m high dune on which the "Spioenkop" Wenduine (aka "Le Pavillon Elisabeth") stands, used to be a strategic observation post of army or customs. In 1902 a dune pavilion or "Spioenkop" was built, which was destroyed twice in the two world wars. The current concrete and brick pavilion dates from 1955.
