St. Augustine Government House, Florida
View Original Description
Government House sits on a site where, starting in the 16th Century, a building serving as an administrative center has stood. For almost 250 years under Spanish and British rule, the governor’s residence and colonial capitol were located here, followed by an American federal building from 1821 to 1966. Today this is a museum that tells the story of St. Augustine.
