Visit Tamarack Beach, Walker Lake, Nevada
Tamarack Beach is located south of 20-Mile Beach and north of Sportsman’s Beach on the west side of Walker Lake, Nevada.
The road at Tamarack Beach is largely unpaved. Each site has an approximately 45-foot long pull-in parking space. There are no other amenities at the site (primitive camping).
Once a mecca for fisherman, boaters, and tourists, today Walker Lake is largely empty. Years of declining water levels and increased salinity took a heavy toll on wildlife and the surrounding community. But, efforts are underway (and working) to bring the lake back.
