Visit
The Bight, Norman Island, BVI
View Original Description
The Bight Bay is located on Norman Island in the BVI's. The Bight is one of the most protected anchorages in the region although Soldier Bay, Benures Bay and Money Bay provide secluded anchorages given the right conditions. This is a very well-sheltered spot with many mooring balls.
Tortola is 7 miles north across the popular sailing waters of the Sir Francis Drake Channel.
The topographical meaning of the word "Bight" is an indentation in a coast so wide that it may be sailed out of on one tack in any wind.
Plan to arrive early for a good location especially during the winter months.
