Visit Turf House (Íslenski bærinn), Selfoss, Iceland
AtAustur-Meðalholtin South-Iceland, you will find a turf house that dates back to 1895. A turf farm has been in this location for at least 400 years and the last inhabitants moved out of the current turf house in 1965.
This turf house is privately owned and a museum. The owner,Hannes, who was born in this turf house, will show you around the turf house and the excellent photo exhibition of old turf houses.
