Vancouver Winter Olympics Cauldron, Canada
View Original Description
During the Vancouver Olympics, organizers were unprepared for how popular the cauldron and flame would be. The five, leaning glass pillars of the cauldron now remain as one of the Winter Olympics’ strongest legacies. They sit in the middle of a fountain, which protects both the pillars and the public. Views of the Shore Mountains and the city of North Vancouver are spectacular from this spot. The cauldron is open to the public 24/7, and is gently lit in blues and greens at night. The flame will be re-lit on special occasions. Where to see it: On the upper level of the Vancouver Convention Centre patio, at the north end of Burrard Street.
