The Information Desk is the perfect place to start your visit to Vicksburg National Military Park. Talk to a park ranger or volunteer to learn more about park exhibits and upcoming programs. The Visitor Center also has its own passport stamps. Families are encouraged to pick up a copy of our free Junior Ranger activity booklet.
The Visitor Center features a permanent exhibition that focuses on the Campaign and Siege of Vicksburg. Visitors are welcome daily to a self guided experience around artifacts, multi-media, and inter-active exhibits. Learn more about a few of the historic artifacts inside the Visitor Center, such as the Surrender Monument and the Historic Howitzer Cannon.
The Visitor Center is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. Tour road is open from 8:30 am to 5 pm daily with last vehicle entry at 4:40 pm. Public restrooms are open at the Visitor Center and USS Cairo. Park grounds are open sunrise to sunset daily.
