NOTE: This is on Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. The Vietnam Unit Memorial is open for all who wish to visit. Advance arrangements must be made for escort of non-DOD personnel to visit the Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument. See here for details. The Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument has a memorial wall and three "brown water" Navy boats. It was funded by private contributions and was built by veterans to honor the Navy and Coast Guard personnel who died while supporting Naval operations during the Vietnam war.
